I really like the idea of creating not a recap recaps, but I haven’t found anything that’s as entertaining as I Love a Mama’s Boy. There are a few that I consider so I thought I would share with you what they are and why I chose not to not recap them 😁.
First up, Relatively Famous Ranch Rules: if you remember back in 2005 E! did the similarly named reality show Filthy Rich Cattle Drive. Basically, they take a cross section of adult children of famous people, who know nothing about ranch life and put them to work helping to prep for the reopening. A lovely coming of age story really 😆. I thought about not recapping it (and I am watching it) but it’s mostly like an extended version of a Housewives trip but with the cast actually doing ranch work. So fighting, flirting, egos and some personal growth is the mainstay of this show. Not much more to say than that. Although one episode had them learning how to inseminate a cow. I’m game for a lot of ranch work but that would’ve been a big hell no for me 🤢.
Secondly, I was going to watch Adults Adopting Adults on Lifetime (yep this is a real thing 🤷🏼♀️). I even taped two of the ten episodes. But then I watched about 10 minutes of one episode and the husband of one of the couples just creeped me the f🤬🤬k out. The few minutes I spent watching this guy made me want to shower the ick off (SHUDDER…). So I scratched THAT off the list.
I also thought about another Lifetime show – My Killer Body with K Michelle. Again, I gave it a shot but between the format and well the general ooginess of it (reality shows about surgeries are just really hard for me to watch 😬), I just couldn’t do it. Sorry 🤷🏼♀️.
Lastly, I was heard about a new show on TLC – Stuck. Premise: “Welcome to the world of stuck objects, such as an insect in an ear or a vibrator inserted to deeply in a rectum that not even the ER doctors can reach it. Crazy things get caught in every hole in the body and have to be removed by medical professionals.” Now I’m sure you can guess why I didn’t want to watch this particular show (☝️), but I have to ask, who in their right mind would agree to be featured on this show, especially with where certain objects are lodged (ahem vibrator meet rectum). And I don’t mean that in a shaming way, you do you – but how could you not be embarrassed to be on tv about it? Good on them for their comfort level, but I’ll pass.
I like to say “I’m watching so you don’t have to” but the last three just pushed my ick-ometer over the line. But I share in case you find some joy in the oddity of these shows.
