Not a Recap – The Courtship Ep. 11

After this, only one more episode to go – unless there’s a reunion. Who knows?

We have four suitors left at this point.

So, I can’t believe I forgot to mention one important fact from ep. 10 and that is at the end of the show, Mr. Chapman sneaks in for another sleepover. And we know they aren’t just sleeping 😉. But this plays a big part in tonight’s episode 😮.

We begin with the usual next morning debrief – Ms. Remy is glowing, and Mr. Chapman is low key bragging about his evening’s exploits (someone needs to grow up 🙄). He said the night brought him “clarity”. At this point we don’t know if that’s going to be a good thing or not….

Of course, the Daily Tea arrives and teases that the men will have work to do for that evening’s dinner. They think they are going to have to cook and seemed to be really worried about it 😆. Turns out it’s only two-part chores – the first part to be completed with Ms. Remy the second part to take place with a member of the court. I’ll spare you the details and hit some highlights.

Mr. Judge has a good time herding ducks with Ms. Remy then has to assist Mr. Remy (the father) with setting up a table. That’s about the gist of it for Mr. Judge so his talk with Mr. Remy must have gone well, or at least no concerns were raised or we would have seen more of their interaction.

Mr. Chapman and Ms. Remy are tasked with smoking bees in order to pull the honeycombs out. Ms. Remy is not thrilled, and I don’t blame her (bees = SHUDDER). Mr. Chapman then brings the honeycombs to Mrs. Remy. He fails to impress when he mentions that he is not ready to give up his van life and since entering the castle, it’s the longest he’s been in one place for several years. One has to ask – why is he even here? Of course, the answer is for the exposure, but let’s pretend we don’t know that shall we 😁?

Mr. Coines and Ms. Remy are tasked with goat milking. They make a mess of it but have a good laugh anyway. Mr. Coines then meets up with Ms. Remy’s best friend to make cheese (boy they are really struggling for content) and they discuss how Mr. Coines can continue to impress Ms. Remy. Be yourself obviously 🤪.

Lastly, we have Mr. Bochiccio’s “chore” with Ms. Remy is to feed the chickens and collect eggs. His mood is dower because of Mr. Chapman’s confession of the previous evening’s sleeping arrangements. He basically wants to know why he is there, that it’s hard to go through this process when she is sleeping with Mr. Chapman (twice) and how hard it is to fall in love when that is happening. Fair, and honest point. She says she loves him but he can’t say it back so she leaves crying. Mr. B then has to go bake with Ms. Remy’s sister but that’s pushed to the side while they discuss what happened.

Everyone returns to their corners of the castle. Ms. Remy talks with her parents, who have serious reservations about Mr. Chapman. This worries Ms. Remy as she cannot marry someone her parents don’t approve of. This is a case of listen to your parents because her rose-colored glasses are clouding her judgment (well that and the fact Mr. Chapman is lying to her 😡).

Over in the men’s quarters, Mr. Bochiccio is so upset by the days events he retires early leaving Messers Coines, Judge and Chapman to themselves. It is here where we find out about the clarity Mr. Chapman’s gained from the previous night. And that clarity is that Ms. Remy would be a great fling (his word) whenever they saw each other but he doesn’t see himself falling in love with her and doesn’t want a serious relationship. At this point I speak for women who have been screwed over by these kinds of men when I say he needs to go f🤬🤬🤬 himself. He has been talking out of both sides of his mouth and is a total douchebag. I am completely pissed on her behalf!

As is Mr. Coines, who feels compelled to send an anonymous note to Ms. Remy, telling her what was said, and that Mr. Chapman wasn’t there for the right reasons. What he doesn’t expect is for it to be delivered during the suitors brunch with the family the next day 😬. She asks her parents to take a walk because she doesn’t want to address this in front of them. All the other suitors, her sister and BFF are still present. Mr. Chapman tries to do damage control (because it could most likely hurt his career), but she is far to angry to bother letting him and shows him the door.

There is still a Farewell Ball where the three remaining suitors wonder if another person will be sent packing. All of them “dance for their lives” as I like to say, with Mr. Coines coming clean about being the note sender. He is worried that will end his journey, but she is thankful for his honesty. She also forgives Mr. Bochiccio for making her cry. And no one goes home, which I expected.

So we have Messers Judge, Coines and Mr. Bochiccio left and they will vie for her heart and her parents approval to be the last… suitor… standing (dun dun duh!)!

Final thoughts:

  • Mr. Kim (who opted out because of the first night Mr. Chapman slept with our leading lady) had his number from the start but instead of blowing up his “game” he left instead.
  • At the same time Mr. Kim was having his doubts, so was I about Mr. Chapman. He was trying too hard for screen time and sleeping with Ms. Remy definitely secured that for him. I’d like to put this TOOL’s nuts in a 🗜.
  • I think the final three are well suited. The only other one I could see also standing here is Mr. Hunter who should have not been sent away in lieu of Mr. Chapman staying a few episodes back.
